Colour print of Henley on Thames on Regatta day. The river is in the foreground and middleground with the bridge in the middle of the painting. There are fields in the background with Henley town to the right. The regatta course is surrounded by spectators in boats and punts and the course has two eights racing. There are spectators in tents, stands and on the towpaths on both sides of the bank.

With illustration title 'Our Young Barbarians' written underneath are the lines:
Oarsman "I'll tell you what it is, old man; as soon as I go out of training I'm going to have the finest dinner I ever had in my life. I'll have turtle soup, oysters_"
Coach "Oysters! My dear chap, you can't eat oysters in August!"
Oarsman "Oh can't I? O-R-g-u-s-t, August. That's all right!"

'Windsor Castle from Clewer Meadows'.
Aquatint by Edward Duncan, engraved by T Prior and published by J Robins & Co Tooley Street.
The Castle is clearly represented in the centre of the picture with leisure rowing and barges on the river below.

Etching and aquatint part of the 'Thames Suite' a collection of 12 prints and aquatints by Julian Trevelyan completed in 1969.
An unframed etching of an abstract view of Windsor with the castle sillouetted in the background and the river and lock in the foreground in turquoise and greys.
Trevelyan was a renowned 20th Century British artist and printmaker.

Part of the Thomas E. Weil Collection. Thomas E Weil is a very knowledgeable and respected collector of rowing memorabilia from all over the world. His extensive collection includes material from many years of the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race, and Henley Royal Regatta. He also lectures and writes on rowing history and is a Trustee of the River and Rowing Museum.
