Two lapel badges made for the Orkney Cottage Boat Club.
The Orkney Cottage Boat Club was a prestigious rowing club throughout the 1880s and 1890s.The badges were made by Hussey and Keymer - Jewellers to the Queen and complete with a box.
The badges are circular in shape, with a clear dome containing a motif of a set of crossed oars, together with a red flag and the letters 'OCBC'. This is mounted on a brass disc which has a crescent shaped attachment hook.

This badge belonged to Carole Jung. She played an important part in the development of Women's rowing during the 1970's. She was a member of Upper Thames Rowing Club and also a crew member in Henley Rowing Clubs first women's eight.
