Silver gilt medal engraved with the names of the crew members on the clasp "P Mawdsley, J Fairrie, T Grindrod, E.B Gibson, F French, J Elsee, J. B Littledale Stroke, A Brittain Cox. 10th June 1856;" and engraved on reverse, "E. B Gibson, Chester"
This victory was achieved in the boat 'Victoria'; the first ever keelless boat built in 1854 by Matt Taylor of Newcastle. The "Victoria" is on permanent display in the Rowing Gallery.
