Silver medal won by E.B. Gibson of Royal Chester Rowing Club, 1854.
Engraved on reverse, "P Maudsley, E.B. Gibson, J.B. Littledale Stroke, H Roberts Cox. MDCCCLIV;" fitted with a faded blue silk ribbon detailing the victories of the crew throughout the year in the boats 'Victoria' and 'Lady Constance'.

Part of the Thomas E. Weil Collection. Thomas E. Weil is a very knowledgeable and respected collector of rowing memorabilia from all over the world. His extensive collection includes material from many years of the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race, and Henley Royal Regatta. He also lectures and writes on rowing history and is a Trustee of the River and Rowing Museum.
Bronze circular medal, the front shows an oarsman standing in the foreground and holding upright oar, watching two eights racing, with very tall trees or spires across on the opposite side of the water. The reverse shows K.R.C. 1946 between oak sprays.
