Cigarette card titled 'The Boat Race' showing, in colour lithograph on card an Oxford oarsman speaking to a Cambridge oarsman, each holding an oar. Title printed along bottom with a heading at the top 'Churchmans Cigarettes'. On the reverse text on the heading 'Howlers- A series of 40 -No.33'. Underneath text headed 'The Boat Race' describing some background to the race. At the bottom 'W.A.& A.C.Churchman-Issued by The Imperial Tobacco Co.Ltd'.

His extensive collection includes material from many years of the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race, and Henley Royal Regatta. He also lectures and writes on rowing history and is a Trustee of the River and Rowing Museum.
