Silver medal won by E.B. Gibson of Chester Royal Rowing Club, 1852.
(Also known as Royal Chester Rowing Club)

Prize medal; engraved on reverse "CRRC E.B. Gibson, J Huxley Jnr., H French, E Dixon Stroke, Coxwains J Grimer, H Lloyd. MDCCCLII;" fitted with a faded blue silk ribbon with silver bars detailing the victories of the crew and teh name of the boat in which they won in such as Lady Constance and Lady Wynne.

Part of the Thomas E. Weil Collection. Thomas E. Weil is a very knowledgeable and respected collector of rowing memorabilia from all over the world. His extensive collection includes material from many years of the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race, and Henley Royal Regatta. He also lectures and writes on rowing history and is a Trustee of the River and Rowing Museum.
