Description
White metal participation medal for 1908 London Olympics;one of these was given to each Olympic athlete, including each rower

It was designed in a classical style, by B. Mackennal and minted by Vaughton of Birmingham.

The front shows a winged angel holding an olive branch in her right hand and a trumpet in her left, "Elis, Athens, Paris, St. Louis, London/ In Commemoration of the Olympic Games Held in London 1908"; and the back portrays two men, one driving and one holding a spray of branches, in a chariot pulled by four horses.
