Caption reads: "The Cambridge crew, left, leads Oxford slightly with one third of yesterday's race completed on teh River Thames but the story was very much different when the 4 1/4 mile run was finished. Cambridge seawmped its traditional foe by 16 lengths finishing the race in 19 minutes 10 seconds."

His extensive collection includes material from many years of the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race, and Henley Royal Regatta. He also lectures and writes on rowing history and is a Trustee of the River and Rowing Museum.
