'Wallingford Castle taken in 1810 while the bridge was repairing.'

Landscape of a river scene with a pair of barges in the centre of the picture. Behind them on the far bank is a coffer dam where men are working on the stone foundations of a bridge. In the centre right there is a wooden bridge and riverside buildings and in the left background an old church behind some trees. In the distance there are some ruins on the hill.

Framed aquatint engraved by Robert Havell after a watercolour by William Havell. Published as Plate No 3. in a set of 12 in 1818 as 'A Series of Picturesque Views of the River Thames' by Thomas McLean.
