Description
Eight-oared race gold medal from the 1908 London Olympics.

Front (obverse) shows a naked male standing in between two females who are placing a laurel wreath on his head. The inscription on the front reads 'Olympic Games London 1908'

The back (reverse) shows St George, on a horse with a spear and a shield slaying a dragon (at the bottom of the image). At the edge of the medal is an angel watched St George.

The rim has an inscription which reads: "Winner Eight Oared Race"
