Abstract: The purpose of this book is to highlight the potential of the River Thames as an alternative and underused way of travelling through London. It focuses particularly on the idea of the "Water-bus". It includes two essays; one by A.P Herbert entitled 'No boats on the river' and a second by J.H.O. Bunge entitled 'The 1932 Water-bus'. There are also a large number of black and white photos of the Thames.
