His encouragement of racing is well known . . ." Preface by the editor and Note: "the present work - with the exception of a few illustrations which are reproduced from the former book on 'Boating' - is entirely new. Not a line of the original 'Boating' volume, published ten years ago, is retained. The Authors wish to record their thanks to Mr Herbert T Steward for the great assistance he has given them in connection with the chapter on 'Henley Regatta' . . ."
