Description
Royal Doulton plate in box. The plate is coloured and is illustrated with an image in the centre displaying a scene at Henley. There are boats on the river and pleasure boats on the bank. People are seen on the banks and the Bridge and the church are on the far side. The plate has ablue borderwith a gold trim.. At the base of the plate is a illustration of a hat and crossed oars and the word 'Henley'. On the reverse of the plate is titled 'To commemoratethe opening of the Edwardian International Heathrow 1991' and explains that this plate is one of five hundred.

Part of the Thomas E. Weil Collection. Thomas E Weil is a very knowledgeable and respected collector of rowing memorabilia from all over the world. His extensive collection includes material from many years of the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race, and Henley Royal Regatta. He also lectures and writes on rowing history and is a Trustee of the River and Rowing Museum.
