Large ring binder of material relating to Henley-on-Thames in the 19th century, collected by J. Umfreville as part of research into brewing and the temperance movement in Henley.
As well as a large amount of handwritten material, the folder contains the following documents:
- A chart showing "Attendance Frequency of Temperance & Brewers Cohorts at Henley-on-Thames Societies during early 1892"
- Printed computer document written by J. Umfreville, "The Temperance Movement and the Drink Trade in Henley-on-Thames in the early 1890s - a study of newspaper evidence to illustrate the use of social activities by both sides to increase their influence in this area". Includes a map of Henley showing the location of breweries, inns and beer retailers as well as other relevant locations such as clubs, institutes and churches/chapels.
- Printed computer document written by J. Umfreville, "How effectively were local interests represented by the English electoral system before 1832?"
- Printed computer document written by J. Umfreville, "Henley-on-Thames, a Town in Transition, including a photocopied map showing the percentage of Henley-born residents in each district at the time of the 1891 Census

- Photocopy of a history of Holy Trinity Church, Rotherfield Greys, from 1848 to 1890, including references to the Temperance movement.
- Photocopied handwritten documents from the Holy Trinity Church's historical account and church minutes.
- Photocopied newspaper pages relating to several murders and deaths in Henley, including Kate Dungey at Lambridge House (1893), the Holmes family (1908) and the drowning of carter Edward Foster (1898)
- Printed document listing material in the "Reeves Archive" referring to G.W. Reeve's membership of the town council and various societies]
- Photocopied newspaper page from the South Oxfordshire Standard, June 16 1899, relating to the building of the new Town Hall for Henley
- 100th Anniversary supplement from the Henley Standard newspaper, February 22 1985
