Colour slide of an island in the middle of the River Thames at Hampton.
Taken by Anthony Haines in 1997, as part of a photographic commission for the book "The Thames from source to sea" by Paul Atterbury and Anthony Haines. Published in 1998 by Weidenfield & Nicholas. Republished in 2002 by Cassell.
View shows the river, looking across to the opposite bank, with a small island in the centre with willow trees, swans and geese on it. There is grass and trees on the opposite bank in the background.
