Taken by Anthony Haines before 1998, as part of a photographic commission for the book "The Thames from source to sea" by Paul Atterbury and Anthony Haines. Published in 1998 by Weidenfield & Nicholas. Republished in 2002 by Cassell.
A pebbly beach in the foreground with the waters edge lined with windsurfers and their surf boards. Three are on the water. The land extends round to the left to form the background.
