Colour slide of Gravesend in Kent.
Taken by Anthony Haines before 1998, as part of a photographic commission for the book "The Thames from source to sea" by Paul Atterbury and Anthony Haines. Published in 1998 by Weidenfield & Nicholas. Republished in 2002 by Cassell.
Shows a low tide looking towards a pier that a red and white ship is docked at to the left, with a black walkway between the two. There is a small white boat anchored on its side in the foreground.
