Late Victorian silver teapot belonging to the Shanghai Rowing Club. Part of three piece tea service that includes a jug and bowl.
Indented marks of a decorative nature as a background to the engraved markings of trees, birds and flowers. Also emboss of two love birds, surrounded by bamboo.
The Shanghai Rowing Club boathouse was situated on the Soochow Creek just behind the British Consolate General.
