TIM FOSTER, Olympic champion
Tim Foster won the|OLympic title in coxless fours at Sydney 2000. His international career began with a junior gold medal in 1987. He was the first British junior to win two consecutive gold medals, the second one in 1988 being in a pair with Matthew Pinsent who was also in the Sydney four to win his third Olympic gold. The other members were James Cracknell and Steve Redgrave, the latter winning his fifth Olympic gold. Foster's outstanding career included two world titles and five other senior world medals and a bronze at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. This was also in a coxless four with Jonny and Greg Searle and Rupert Obholzer. After Sydney Foster began a coaching career, beginning with guiding the GB coxed four to the 2002 world title.
