Lucy Pocock had two brothers and one sister, she lived with her mother and father in Kingston. In 1906 she won the Teddington Regatta. In 1912 she won the Daily Mirror Cup for women scullers, later that year she was challenged to a rematch by second -place Miss Brady, and won. At the end of 1912 Lucy left London for Vancouver with her father and sister. Between 1913-1914 she was employed by the University of washington first as a Rowing Crew cook, then as a swimming coach, and then a rowing coach. She married James B. Stilwell in October 1917 and moved to Seattle. By 1920 she had two daughters who she travelled to England with and introduced to her father. She died in 1958 in Seattle.
