From a letter from David Hancock, dated 14th February 2016: "My late wife's name was Shirley Barbara Jeanette. The Shirley was acquired rather than given (small girls with blonde ringlets in the 30's suffered from the Shirley Temple syndrome). Sadly she died in 2008. We moved to Henley in 1966 buying a brand new house in Deanfield Road. We got to know some of the Towns architects, who when they discovered our vocations for the graphic arts invited me to prepare a series of boards with lifesize images of Henley notables."
